Elizabeth and Rees decided to have their wedding ceremony and reception at the 2131 Event Space in downtown Kansas City. The couple’s color palette of pinks and oranges played a strong role throughout their wedding from the flowers to the candy, cookie and cupcake bar.
Petalz Events created the bridal party flowers and the centerpieces for the wedding and reception.
Elizabeth was a very creative bride and decided to have a lot of DIY projects including the invites that made their day really stand out!
Colleen Eide Photography did a amazing job captering every detail including this shot which I love of downtown Kansas City.
The couple wanted to add some fun moss elements to their wedding so I made moss initials for the front door of the event space.
Elizabeth and Rees wanted to bring in color, flowers and moss into their ceremony but didn’t want to cover up the wonderful exposed brick so Jessica and I came up with making a hanging backdrop out of flowers, ribbon, moss and hanging candles.
To keep te theme of moss going we also made a moss ring bearer pillow as well as moss-covered flower girl baskets.
Lacy Barnes who is also a wedding hiver like us agreed to play for the ceremony….great addition!
I will have to say that this little guy was the cutest ring bearer that we have had so far. So adorable!
Behind the bar the couple used the permanent cork boards to make picture collages of the past and present with family and friends.
All along the walls of the reception space Elizabeth and Reese hung family wedding photos.
Each place setting had a frosted sugar cookie with Elizabeth and Rees’s initials.
Deco Catering did a wonderful job that evening with its many worldly buffet stations including some of the couple’s favorites: Mediterranean and Asian.
Instead of a cake the couple had an array of desserts from cupcakes, to candy, to pies and to even the family’s favorite cookie varieties.
